Hey! Something I want to share with you guys.
Are you familiar with glass dip pens? Most probably aren’t. There are few of them I bought some time ago on online auction, nibs only. The whole glass pens come in various pretty shapes and colors, very elegant (/x/x/x/x/x/). Nibs alone works perfectly fine, though. I use lead holder to keep them in place.
When it comes to usage - works really fine! The nib tips are rather smooth, ink flow holds surprisignly long. HERE’S nice quick review, if you want to know more. I tested it with two kinds of ink and ecoline. With india ink it seemed that it wouldn’t work due to thickness, but no! it’s controlable, the lines are crispy. Of course you can’t differ the line weight much with this tool, but if you work with simple lineart it should be perfect.
Availability? There are glass pens on auctions and online shops, the price varies from 15 to 40$ for what I’ve seen… Dip nibs alone - auctions only. Most of them are vintage.
If you’re an inking/drawing nerd, a must-have! ;D
